LET’S TALK

Help with the routines that make living at home possible.

Personal care should support dignity and independence—not take them away.

Care Professional assisting a client with daily routines at home

Changes in strength, balance, mobility, memory, or health can make ordinary routines harder to manage safely.

A Care Professional can provide hands-on assistance while respecting the person’s preferences, privacy, and existing abilities.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

Personal-care support may include

Care Professional preparing a meal with a client at home
  • Bathing, showering, and grooming
  • Dressing and personal presentation
  • Toileting and incontinence care
  • Mobility, transfers, and walking assistance within the Care Professional’s training
  • Meal preparation and help with eating
  • Medication reminders
  • Light household support connected to the client’s care
  • Transportation, errands, and accompaniment to appointments
  • Routine observation and communication of nonclinical concerns

The right amount of help

Good personal care does not mean doing everything for someone. It means providing the assistance needed while encouraging the person to continue doing what they safely can. The balance may change from day to day and as the person’s condition evolves.

A relationship built over time

Personal care is intimate. Comfort, communication, and trust matter. Northline works to build a sustainable arrangement and to understand feedback when something is not working as expected.

Nonmedical care with clear boundaries

Care Professionals do not replace licensed nurses, physicians, or therapists. If the person requires clinical assessment, medication administration, wound care, injections, or another skilled service, we will help clarify the difference and discuss appropriate next steps.
